Julia has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Australia. Prior to being called to the bar Julia worked in private practice for a boutique plaintiff personal injury firm, primarily representing survivors of historical child sexual abuse. At the start of her career Julia worked in private practice in family law.
Julia has appeared as counsel and instructing solicitor in various courts and tribunals, including the Supreme Court of Western Australia, District Court of Western Australia, Magistrates Court, Family Court of Western Australia and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Julia has extensive experience in providing written and oral advice, and oral advocacy.
Julia is an engaged member of the Perth legal community. Julia is the President of Women Lawyers of Western Australia and is a member of the Western Australian Bar Association Council. Julia is a member of the Australian Lawyers Alliance (WA State Branch Committee and Abuse Law Special Interest Group) and the Law Society of Western Australia, and sits on the Law Society’s Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injuries Committee.
