Penny has practiced in general insurance and personal injury litigation in Western Australia since the mid 1990’s.

 

She has over 30 years of experience in the areas of motor vehicle personal injuries, industrial and dust diseases, public liability, workers’ compensation, and property damage.

 

Prior to commencing at the independent Bar, Penny worked in private practice. Penny is the youngest lawyer to have been appointed to the legal panel of the Insurance Commission of Western Australia for CTP insurance. She has extensive experience in catastrophic personal injury damages claims and in assessing claims for damages for dependency arising from fatal accidents and psychiatric injury claims. Penny also assisted product manufacturers and employers in the assessment and defence of claims arising from asbestos exposure. Penny has also represented occupiers in public liability claims and injured claimants in motor vehicle claims.

 

Penny is renowned for her fair and accurate damages assessments, efficient claims management, and effective negotiation skills. She appears regularly in the District Court of Western Australia and in the Supreme Court of Western Australia at pre-trial conferences and mediation conferences and prides herself on providing accurate and timely advice. Penny also has experience as trial counsel in the District Court.
